Oxalic acid is an organic acid with the other name ethanedioic acid and formula HO2C−CO2H. Standard oxalic acid with a fine white crystalline appearance. Oxalic acid’s main applications include cleaning or bleaching, especially for the removal of rust (iron complexing agent).

1. Oxalic acid can be used as a bleaching agent for cleaning and treating metal surfaces.
2. Oxalic acid can be used for marble cleaning and textile bleaching.
3. Before painting the exterior wall paint in the construction industry, due to the strong alkalinity of the wall surface, oxalic acid should be painted first to remove alkali.
4. Oxalic acid can also be used to remove rust. Be careful when using, oxalic acid is highly corrosive to stainless steel. High concentrations of oxalic acid easily corrode hands.
